Jul 11, 2016 · It's a fundamental limitation of the Slot-1 bus - there just isn't enough bandwidth to handle streaming anything over 48FPS of video. Even if the game's rendering at a perfect 60FPS internally, the DS physically isn't capable of displaying it at anything more than 48FPS - so every GBA game has frameskipping/tearing issues if you're using TempGBA.
